The Robert T. Matsui Center offers students internships at federal, state, and local levels of government. If you are passionate about service and politics we can help you find the rewarding internship you are looking for, currently we are placing interns in positions from San Francisco to Washington D.C.
Students are welcome to stop by the Matsui Center and browse through our collection of up to date internship information.
If you are an employer and wish to host an intern, please email information on your institution, the duties and responsibilities an intern will assume and what they can expect to gain from working in your institution, along with all necessary contact information. Internships offered through the Center include-
The Matsui Washington Internship: This internship is awarded to students who have secured an internship at the Capital through the UC Washington Program.
Cal-In-Sacramento Matsui Center State Government Interns: Students chosen for this program spend a summer in Sacramento working for legislators, non profits, media outlets, lobbyists, and learning about various aspects of California state government.
Local Government Internship: One intern is chosen per year to serve at the local level of government- learning how city government operates, committees, departments or any aspect of municipal government that the intern finds especially interesting.
